Anxiety: It Can Be Cured

Have you lost hope? Has someone told you that your anxiety is chronic and you will always deal with the negative effects?
Anxiety is natural. It has a functional purpose, but it can sometimes
take over your life. When this happens, counseling is the best way to
work with a professional and figure out the cause. Once you do that, it
is time for change!
You will need to learn new habits. You will need to learn how to
breathe differently, to take care of yourself regularly, to have healthy
relationships. And even if you are just starting this process, it's
okay! You can start today!
Take five minutes and do these five things, each for one minute. When
you're done, feel the temporary relief and take heart that this could
become your new reality. And then go contact that therapist and start
counseling so that this feeling of being free becomes your new normal.
Five Minute Stress Relief:
Minute One: Breathe in for four counts, hold for four counts, breathe
out for four counts. Focus on thinking of your torso as a bucket, and
you want to fill up all parts of that bucket. Breathe into your back,
into your stomach, your chest and your upper back.
Minute Two: Journal. Write two words, five words, or five pages about whatever you are feeling right at this moment. No judgement.
Minute Three: Plank or do pushups. Do them on your knees. Do them for 10 seconds at a time. Whatever you can. Show yourself that you are capable of great things.
Minute Four: Dance. Let a few of those things weighing on your heart free.
Minute Five: Go outside and look at the sky. The possibilities in this world are endless. And the possibility of living anxiety-free could be yours.
How do you feel? A little better, perhaps? You never want anxiety to
go away completely. It serves a wonderful purpose when we need to get
away from a dangerous situation. But it should be equally felt with all
your other emotions. It should not be the only one you feel 24/7. So
